I have some really simple ones and then some that are easy just have more ingrediants that I need to check them out in my recipe box. let me know if you want teh other ones. here are 3 seperate recipes:
1) just pour some bbq sauce over it add some water adn bake covered, at 350 for 2 hours or so , depending on size.
2) spice the meat with garlic powder, pepper, and paprika. in the meantime saute some onions. when the onions are translucent pour them on top of the meat. cover it and bake at 350 for 2 hours (again depending on the size of the meat)
3) another easy one is a recipe from the spice and spirit cookbook, I think it is called festive brisket- but I dropped alot of the ingrediants and still tastes great. you need to brown the meat on both sides for a total of 10 minutes. add a can of cranberry sauce (jellied) and then add some marinara sauce- I usually pour it into the empty cranberry sauce can to measure, I put a little less than half the can. cook, covered, on the stove top for 2 hours .
I have other recipes with vegtables like potatoes and carrots, that also come out great. I will try to post later.

It's always a good idea to slow cook a brisket. It'll ensure that the meat is tender. (Slow cooking means keeping the temp of the oven at around 290 and cooking it for several hours).

Here is my mom's recipe. I don't really measure and I leave out some of the ingredients, but it always comes out great anyway! I'm actually making it this shabbos.
Barbecued Beef
4 lb. chuck roast (or brisket)
2 tsp salt
2 tsp pepper
1/2 cup water
1 - 6 oz. can tomato paste
2 medium minced onions
2 cloves garlic
2 T. brown sugar
1/4 tsp. paprika
1/2 tsp. dry mustard ( I leave this out)
1/4 cup lemon juice
1/4 cup catsup
1/4 cup vinegar
1 T. Worchestire sauce ( I leave this out)
dash of Tabasco ( I leave this out)
dash of chili powder
Put all ingredients together.
Bake at 300 for 4-6 hours. Serve on buns as shredded BBQ beef (I don't serve on buns )
I just remembered to add that I've only ever made this in my crockpot. I put on high for 2hours, then on low until we eat, it was better Fri night than Shabbos day. This week I'm doing it in the oven.
B'tayavon!
