What is the reason? Anyone who is a Shochet's wife can shed some light on why each chicken is missing a wing (it's been cut off)?

Um I would really double check that. I think the wing is where they put the hechsher clips on it. Sounds fishy to me.

Perhaps they took them off to sell separately. If I'm ordering chicken at the butcher, I always ask them to remove the wngs.

You should be happy. Less fat for you, and you pay less for more quality.

Don't the poor chickens who are born with deformities deserve to become dinner? First they don't get a telethon to raise money for them, now they're considered inferior by home cooks.

So unfair.

OP here, these chickens are all considered on of the best Hashgachas in existence (name starts with a "V", what did they do with the wings before/after Shechita? I tried calling the company, no answer, no machine. Interesting.

Do some stores buy "seconds" (chickens missing limbs) cheaper?

I just got though to the company. They say the chickens that get damaged in processing (missing something), are sold at a slight discount to the supermarket. It's the supermarket's responsibility to advise the customer. Nevertheless, they are 100% kosher.

Hey everyone, I was kidding, I am not endorsing the use of unkosher chickens by you fine frum ladies.

Which reminds me of something. When I was on a kibbutz (not kosher) many of the chickens we got were the ones that couldn't be sold, due to broken legs or deformities. You should see some of the weird-looking birds that wound up on our Shabbos dinner plates. Yum.
