I was looking through my closets and found 2 black straight skirts from a few years ago which I don't wear anymore but they still fit. Are they totally out of fashion?

I live in Israel so it's hard to know what the real fashion is out there and don't want to look crazy out of it.

I'm not the type to follow all the latest trends but still don't want to stick out too much. TIA

It’s true that people are wearing A lined skirts these days but I personally look better in a straight skirt so I do wear.
I don’t think you will look funny.

I am no fashion expert but I think whatever people wear with jeans or leggings will also pair pretty well with a straight skirt.

I only wear straight skirts pretty much.

I think it looks good on a certain body type where you're smaller in bottom. I know someone who wears it almost every day and looks good in it.

On the contrary, a straight skirt on a top-heavy body would make you (not you, specifically) look like a muffin top.

Where is "real fashion?" Lakewood? Crown Heights? London? Milan? Paris?

If it suits your body type, a straight black skirt is a classic wardrobe staple.

Maybe you're right. I probably didn't explain it well. But, like most fashion, I do think it looks better on some people better than others. I'm bigger around the middle, so I'm not so sure I can look good in a straight skirt.

Meaning that in Israel ppl around me are not so fashion conscious so I have no idea what's in style. But there are still some norms and can't remember seeing anyone in a straight skirt for a while.

Well I live in Brooklyn and wear a straight black skirt quite often. Some tops don't go with the A-line/ flary look.

Wow im so surprised by all the replies of people who wear them everyday! I find straight skirts so uncomfortable to the point that it puts me in a bad mood.. I wear mostly loose dresses I add a belt for shape. When u do wear skirts they are mostly A line..

Not everyone looks good in a line skirts. I look like a squashed cabbage patch doll.

I’m not a fashionista... I wouldn’t wear a straight black skirt to a regular cardigan. I would wear either accordion pleated or a-lined. But to some things I still need straight skirt. Like under a very long sweater...
