Used coffee grounds mixed into your shampoo. Rinse well. Your hair will be bone dry after the shower and will only start getting oily on day 3

Switch brands often. Any brand will do. Shampoos really can "stop working" after a while.
I have 3 different brands, and I rotate them every few weeks. That way your scalp doesn't get too used to a certain type of shampoo.
If you use conditioner, towel dry your hair, and then put a dab of conditioner in your fingertips, and run it through only the bottom half of your hair. Avoid the scalp at all costs, it doesn't need conditioner! Do not rinse it out, just brush your hair well.
You'll also save a ton of money, because you won't be washing a lot of it down the drain. Now you can go out and buy a super expensive conditioner, knowing that it will last forever.
I have always had super oily hair, and this is the only method that has worked consistently for me.

Can I bump this? My 13 year old has frizzy thin oily hair... she needs some conditioner to keep the frizz at bay but it always looks shiny. Especially with this horrible hairstyle where the girls part their hair and wear it flat. Is there any shampoo/ conditioner that’ll keep away frizz but leave her hair looking neat and dry?

I have always had really oily hair. I use a really basic shampoo like Suave Daily Clarifying Shampoo and I use whatever condition, only on the very ends.

Two suggestions: when using conditioner, don't get it near the scalp, just on the hair. Secondly, has she tried a dry shampoo? It's great at soaking up excess oil and getting rid of that oily feeling.

Try the curly girl method.

I like the Rosemary Mint shampoo. Aveda is famous for it but - at least for my hair - the Suave version is just as good.
