If you got a job 6 months ago, where the terms of the contract were only for 6 months, and now it's expiring and they don't need you anymore, can you apply for unemployment? What are the rules?

I think so. Years ago, I got a job filling in for someone going on maternity leave for 3 months. Afterwards , I collected unemployment. I did have some employment from another job, so they added the time together.
