I did this, and it was fun, but I wouldn't do it again simply because of scheduling -
We were so busy running out to parties most nights that unwrapping the gift of the night became kind of rushed as we were trying to get out the door, and I didn't feel like I enjoyed the gifting, squeezed as it was between getting the kids coats on amd making sure everyone went to the bathroom. If you have a busy chanukah, make sure to set aside a time (right after lighting menorah?) dedicated to unwrapping.

Anyhow, here are some ideas:
Funky socks (Happy Socks makes some really cool ones)
New music CD
Puzzle or game
Wine or whiskey
Gloves
Scarf
Cell phone car holder

No problem! The shtender idea was taken but a tabletop one or full one is great! And my sister in law bought personalized bookmarks for my husband a d he loves them! Has them in a lot of sefarim and books he is reading (daily chofetz Chaim, parsha etc). I like the idea of buying something specific vs gift card cuz most stores allow u to exchange but the item is more thoughtful than a gift card.
If u don't mind spending, my husbands chavrusah loves his book on the bais hamikdash with pictures and measurements and puts a lot of their mishnayos into perspective. And we loves the kezayis book because its interesting (and necessary) to see when we really need a bracha achrona or to wash etc. It's easy to read and colorful pictures to size of tons of items. Wasn't an expensive buy and we both enjoy it. Books with thoughts of the parsha can be good too and can be used every week! Good luck!!
