Dh's pants are always shlumping down, so that he has to keep pulling them up to his waist. It obviously looks very shlumpy. He wears a belt. He is overweight, but not obese.
Any ideas?
(I know we are ladies here, but I told him I would ask if women know from husbands or sons, he is not going to ask his friends that's for sure

DH had this issue a little while back. He bought a smaller size belt that held his pants more securely and solved the problem.

I see it around, it's very common. They have bellies and don't want to wear pants wide enough to fit around their waste.. So instead they keep the fronts below their stomachs, but the back of their pants above their tush. Pants aren't meant to be worn this way and it looks silly and they fall down.
They have to either lose their bellies or man up and wear their (bigger) pants higher.

And my DH did the opposite -- bought larger pants that have enough room to stay where they belong instead of sliding down where he's not so big.

It’s such a fashion disaster when overweight men try to cram their bulk into pants or shirts that are “skinny”, “slim”, etc. honestly it looks gross

It's sounds like they're not fitting properly. He should go to a tailor who can either fix his current pants or tell him what to buy (and get tailored) that will then fit properly.

Add elastic somehow so they would stay more snug?

Lose weight?
Excess weight around the waistline puts him at much higher risk for heart disease, CVS. Ask his doctor to tell him that.
Don't serve so much carbs at meals.

He'll stand out more if his pants fall off...

I think it's because todays pants are designed with so little extra material. I've unfortunately seen this happen to many men regardless of their weight and style of pants they are wearing. Even if your husband wears a roomier style pants it is still a lot skimpier then pants used to be.
Practical solution? A good belt and awareness before he bends down to make sure his pants are high enough before he starts bending. Gone are the days when men can move without thinking. Now mens fashion dictates that men need to think before crouching lest they expose themselves.

I think it's true about the pants design. My 6 yr old ds has pairs of pants that he won't wear bc when he sits down his underwear shows in the back or they're too tight on his thighs or for some other similar reason. And he is a kid who is short and skinny!

I know that he's not a man, but I figured it helped prove it's universal
