After many years of me trying to convince my husband to take a parenting course, or at least listen to my advice regarding parenting, I think I'm giving up. Our differences in parenting causes a lot of tension in an otherwise okay marriage. I am by nature very passionate about what I do, and I try to give my children tons of love, attention, and listen to them all day and night. My husband, on the other hand, is quite distracted, not so devoted, and sometimes ignores them while they speak... (I think he might not take his parenting so seriously because he never really got that type of chinuch from his parents... )
Is it so terrible that I'm the only parent who really gives them genuine attention, while my husband is distracted, forgetful etc.?

As long as the other parent is not abusive, it should be okay.
But maybe DH can be attentive once a week with each child?
It may be too hard to ask him to be attentive all the time, if it is against his nature.
But maybe a scheduled small amount of time is do-able.

They can get all they need from one parent but they won't have a relationship neccessarily with your husband. He doesn't need a parenting course, just a bit of convincing that he will be happier in the long run if he bonded with them.

One attentive parent is enough. I know a woman who's xh was far from a good father. She was similar to you. Her kids grew up amazing.
