It’s the worst Sad

I shop at Trader Joe’s or Aldi as much as I can. I find it to be so much cheaper than Jewish stores.

Are you me?
Meat/chicken: Bingo and evergreen
Vegetables: food fair.
Rice/beans/sugar/flour: Walmart
Paper goods: bingo
Soda/seltzer:Walmart
Cleaning products/toiletries: walmart
No prepared food, no take out.
Clothing: Marshall’s, Burlington, kupas Ezra, or any store that is on sale. I bought myself 2 nice summer tops on chic lingerie , sale rack 70% off. You have to browse stores/web sites. I buy sneakers and shoes online as well. It’s a trial and error thing till you find which companies work for you.

This!
About once a month I drive to Lakewood to stock up my pantry. Every Wednesday/Thursday they have a few places to pick up boxes from and they are excellent.
FYI: I’m middle class without welfare. I have a mortgage/bank account/loan and lease on my name. No monkey business over here.

Aren’t the boxes for Lakewood residents only?

I thought you were only suppose to pick up from one place.

I don’t know. Don’t worry, there are enough boxes, I’m not stealing food from anyone.

This is a great list. Even within these categories I cut a little here and there- like only buying cheaper toiletries like suave or equate/Walmart brand instead of name brand- almost across the board (not just toiletries)

I skip seltzer and soda every other week to save too.

Omg.
Leave her alone. There are so many boxes here, people don’t know what to do with all the food.

It's fine for each family to get one box every week, no matter where they live.

My goal is not ch"v to report anyone. Some ppl are scrupulous with keeping the law (I know there are different mindsets about this), so I'm just providing that info since someone asked. It's supplied by the federal government and each family is allowed one box per week.

I believe its one box per child. But I also believe that my tax dollars are paying for it so I would rather it go to people who need it than to the garbage.

I believe it is all nj residents
And I don’t see the harm in getting double one week and skipping the next - it’s a 14 day box instead of a 7 day. Personally, I have 3 kids and the box site we go to has 2 person boxes. So I alternate weeks, and every other week get 2 boxes for 4 kids and the next week get 1 box for 2 kids

There are also supper boxes that are a different cheshbon- you can do lunch and supper per kid.
