A family member incurred a high amount of medical bills last year that weren't paid. A collection agency owns the bill now and I reached out to them today. They were only willing to settle at a price with me paying 75% of the bill. I had expected them to make a better offer. Does anyone have experience with this? Can I expect that if I wait it out they will go lower?
