Never been to these places but my SIL went
Monroe Ruach chaim park
Bear mountain
a dam that you can hike up - may be this: Croton Gorge Park
An old village with activities for the children (or something like that) - maybe this http://museumvillage.org/our-v.....tour/

The Castle in Chester has Go Karts and mini golf and some other find things for kids (arcades, batting cages). There are a few activity things to do at the Palisades Mall as well...

Van saun park/zoo in paramus
Humdingers in paramus
Monster mini golf in paramus
Lego land in goshen
The castle in goshen
American dream mall 30 min from monsey
Tappan Golf extreme has go carts, batting cages and mini golf (exit 5 off the palisades)
Bear mountain zoo, has boating and hiking, also is a good spot for bbqing
Tappan Zee bridge has a nice pedestrian lane, with lookout spots, it’s a long walk though. There is also a fun park in Nyack by the water near the bridge that has a walkout deck over the water and a sprinkler park for kids.
Palisades mall has lots of options, (laser tag, bowling, ropes course, go carting, ice skating, Ferris wheel and carousel)
IT at Jordan’s (super fun indoor ropes course with a mini version for littler kids) 1 hour away in Connecticut
PEZ candy factory, near the ropes course in CT as well
There are lots of local places for fruit/vegetable picking as well, check google.

Emeline Park in Haverstraw just got boat rentals and I think they do have speedboats
