DC is feeling generally fine. A awful sore throat. 11 yrs old. We took a culture last night. Rapid was negative. Davening to hashem overnight should be positive because dc is in real agony. Hot tea didnt help. What else can I try??

Yep. Gargle with very warm salt water.
Humidify the room.
Spend time in a steamy bathroom.
Pain reliever.
Throat lozenges.
Don't speak any more than necessary.
If it's viral, it usually migrates to the nose quickly.

You can try a throat spray. It used to help me when I was young but I found out that Chloraseptic is not recommended kashrus- wise but there are others.

Some people actual like the way cold feels
Like ice cream or milkshake
Try it as well
Motrin works better than Tylenol

I gargle with apple cider vinegar. Supposedly it can kill a throat virus.
But it tastes really bad. You can try making tea with lots of honey with it and try drinking it that way.

Gargle with one part hydrogen peroxide to four parts water. Kills the germs.
