so, my very kind neighbor brought me some delicious muffins.
My baby ever so eager to eat came right over to taste. Aver giving her a few crumbs did I realize that I should really have asked if it contains honey.
It did.
Now what.
Am sooo nervous.

It’s fine. Botulism is pretty rare.

It's probably fine, but you should call your doctor just in case. Most likely they will tell you to keep an eye on her for botulism symptoms.

Chances are she’ll be fine but if it were me I might give her a capsule or 2 of activated charcoal mixed into some applesauce or something

Honey in baked/cooked items is totally fine, no concern. The high temp kills any bacteria that would be dangerous for an infant.

Please do not feed charcoal to your baby. She will be fine, it was probably a minute amount of honey and was anyways already baked so no concern.

Dr. Google says otherwise. But really, it’s absurd to worry about something like this. Again, botulism is very rare.

Babies over 6 months almost never have an issue with honey. Coupled with the fact that it was baked I really wouldn't worry.
And botulism is curable... If you know what it is.

Constipation is the first symptom associated with botulism in infants, but listlessness, decreased appetite, weakness and respiratory failure may follow.

If she doesn't have regular bowel movements this week, call your doctor...

Incredibly unlikely to happen though.

My pediatrician told me only raw honey is a problem and baked or cooked is okay.

Besides that botulism is so rare, most babies are good by 6 months and the vast vast majority by 9 months. So 12 months is just the Extra Safe age.

My pediatrician told me the same. He says the honey we have today is so processed that's its not a problem. Today's days in age, only raw honey is a problem. An ER dr told it to me too. This was after dc started exhibiting scary symptoms shortly after eating something with honey. Both my pediatrician and ER dr told me it's most likely a reaction to a different ingredient
