I just spoke to s/o very frum and she said she uses plastic liners on the shelves, and only cleans the walls of the fridge. (I was saying that it's harder getting the tape off after Pesach than putting it on before).

What do the Rabbonim say?

I repaint my kitchen and dining room walls; that's better and easier than covering. I cover my counters and the walls adjacent to them. I put food inside the fridge inside bags. If you have a good way to line the fridge, it's probably better for the fridge.

Fridge and freezer walls. There are some people that cover their kitchen cabinet doors and I think even kitchen walls! Anyhow, I'd love to have the Blumenkrantz book in my hands and see what it says about refrigerator and freezer walls- if cleaning is enough.

My couch definitely comes in contact with chometz. I did NOT cover it.

Whatever you kasher, doesn't have to be covered. Its an added precaution.
People kasher all types of utensils for Pesach, do they cover it all afterwards?

We don't kasher for Pesach and if my Pesach food comes in contact with my couch, I'm definitely not going to eat it on Pesach!

it's a minhag. chumrah, if you will.

you don't have to keep any minhgim or chumras, for that matter, technically speaking.

I put hot foods in my frige and freezxer, too, but with a hot pad.

what about your oven walls? do you cover them? I'd be afraid of covering too much in an appliance, and it would stop working ....

If the oven is kashered, it's kashered... Why would you line the walls of your oven?? that doesn't even make sense. I love SELF-Cleaning ovens.

Boy do I feel dumb! Rolling Eyes

I just got hold of the Blumenkrantz book and it says only cleaning/washing is required. I was soooo sure that everyone does this.

I have seen once or twice covering the counters. I have heard of lining the fridge shelves, but never seen. The rest I never heard about...
