It’s been going on a while but it’s worse . My baby is miserable , I think it’s from that. She has to be held most of the day, babysitter said she never had problem with baby like this she cry’s so much. I do mupirocin and Vaseline , any other ideas to help it. It oozes and it itches her

Could be a food allergy.

Try changing the detergent you use on her bed and clothing.

We had this and it ended up being food allergies. Worth looking in to- but I hope it’s not!

Take her to an allergist. How old is she?

Op, can you be more specific. Do you know what triggers her eczema? Is it food allergies, detergent etc? It's not just what cream to use... My kid has eczema too and bh things are much better now. What did you try already besides for just putting Vaseline on face?

I want to add- a few of my other kids also had eczema as babies and small kids but it was controllable by putting on topical rx creams. My baby with allergies had very bad eczema on his face.
And he was an exclusively breastfed baby (no formula with allergens).
Is your baby eating food yet?

The food you ate while breastfeeding mattered if he had food allergies.

My baby had terrible eczema, the hydrocortisone did nothing.
I went off of eggs and a few weeks later he was clear.
Then when I accidentally had egg in a salad dressing - boom it was back.

My baby had terrible eczema on his cheeks, started once he began eating solids. His cheeks were raw and weeping. I took him off of eggs, wheat (dairy was already not eating because he got hives from it) and his face cleared up within a week or two.

I helped my kids through healing their eczema, it really was a horrific nightmare of a stage when they were going through it so I totally understand how challenging this can be. Allergy is definitely PART of the problem 99% of the time. Healing from the root means not dependant on any cream or medication and that what we focused on and BH see great results

Now it's one of the many things that I help people with all the time.
Maybe someone here knows me and will recommend :-)

Another vote for allergies.
Our triggers were the milk I drank and the oats in her cream/ once I started feeding her oatmeal.

Use aquaphor instead of vaseline, or locks in the moisture.

My exclusively breastfed baby and I suffered terribly until we finally went to the allergist and figured out the allergies. Eczema is torture, in hindsight I would have paid $1000 to discover this sooner than I did. Please, I beg you, do a full panel of allergy testing asap.

Wow thank you so much for all your replies. I actually had been off of dairy and started it up the last few months slowly, thinking there’s no effect. But looking back maybe that’s why she developed the cheek eczema and reflux got worse. I had apt by allergist and is having blood work done. Anything to help the itchicng she’s miserable and scratches her face on my shoulder whenever I hold her . Cry’s if she’s not held too
