Is it worthwhile? How long does it last? Does it damage the silver?

Yes!! Best investment ever - a few hundred dollars and now I never need to polish my silver, it looks shiny and gorgeous every week. it's only been a year so I can't say how long term it lasts but I would do it every few years if needed.

Love my candelabara that I laquered. Would do it for any piece that gets used frequently. I’m going on two plus hearts and it’s perfect.

Mine lasted about 8 yes. It was more expensive to relaquer Bec they need to take off the old layer. But was totally worth it. Would love to do it to my menorah. I did it at a& b silver in bp. On 12 and 49. They did a great job

Can anyone recommend a place in Lakewood they used and were happy with?
Do I need to polish it well before I bring it in to be lacquered?

I used ...and was very happy. I don't remember polishing my leichter extra well before giving it in

It’s absolutely worth it. It will last if you take care of your silver.
Something that is used a lot may need to be redone quicker.
Argentum does a really good job!

Can anyone recommend some reasonably priced, trustworthy places that repair, re-silver, and apply laquer in Toronto? Thanks very much!

I did a bunch of pieces and I am only happy with my candlesticks. I believe it ruins silver. My menorah is not the same. It does not look polished but I can't do anything about it. Some other stuff I did peeled. It's just not ttly worth it.

My china closet has air spaces between the glass and the door so my silver gets tarnished very fast. There is no way to seal the glass. Because of that small space everything gets yellow quickly. I don’t have much but what I have just doesn’t look nice.
When I took out my menorah this year and polished it, it didn’t shine. I also noticed scratch marks and I’m wondering if a previous cleaning lady used something abrasive when polishing. I decided to Laquer the menorah because it was always so beautiful and this past Chanuka it lost it’s beauty and shine. They told me it takes 3 months so I didn’t get it back yet. I decided that if I’m happy with it I would also give in my candle sticks.
I think it makes sense to start with one thing and if you like how it looks then give in something else.

Over here in bp it took 1 1/2 weeks. Wondering what takes so long by the place u have it in .
I know someone who gave in all silver. Some say that laquering ruins the silver but I know that it’s worthwhile for me.
