It’s very dangerous, it’s in the soil and they have to treat the soil to fix it if the levels come up high

Yes we did. Our levels were a drop high so we put in a radon mitigation system.

The radon mitigation system will only get it below 4. So if it’s 2.5 for example with the mitigation system, that wouldn’t be considered elevated. But is it still dangerous? I haven’t received a clear answer- anyone know?

Same here. After the mitigation system was installed the level is below 2.

Ours cost $1000
Ours was a bit above a four. It was explained to us as “Not everyone who smokes will get lung cancer. But a percentage will. So not every person with Radon in their house will have issues from it. But why become part of the percentage who does?” Ours was not that high bh but we were nervous and decided to invest in the mitigation system and not take that risk.

So what is it now?

WHAT IS RADON AND WHY IS IT A CONCERN?
Radon is a radioactive gas that comes from the breakdown of naturally occurring uranium in soil and rock. It is invisible, odorless and tasteless, and can only be detected by specialized tests. Radon enters homes through openings that are in contact with the ground, such as cracks in the foundation, small
openings around pipes, and sump pits.
Radon, like other radioactive materials, undergoes radioactive decay that forms decay products. Radon and its decay products release radioactive energy that can damage lung tissue.
The more radon you are exposed to, and the longer the exposure, the greater the risk of eventually developing lung cancer. Radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the United States,
resulting in 15,000 to 22,000 deaths per year.
