ISO crash course about Shabbos

Someone asked me if I know a way to learn the basics of hilchos Shabbos fairly easily and quickly. I'm thinking like a podcast or TorahAnytime series of 5-10 minute bites covering one melacha each that someone can listen to a small amount each day and come out basically aware of what it's about. Anyone know of such a thing? Easy to listen to and digest?

I tried searching TorahAnytime and it was too hard to sift through the results to figure out what might meet this criteria (of being quick and easy but broad coverage.)

Rabbi Krohn's shiurim are fantastic, but very in-depth. Not sure if that's what OP is looking for.

Can you describe this person's level of observance/background knowledge? Is this someone who is observant and relatively knowledgeable but wants to learn more? Someone who has kept Shabbos for years but never learned the halachos? Or someone who is really starting from scratch? The answer for each will be very different.

Basically kept Shabbos but really never learned. Like they know you use a blech, don't turn lights on and off, etc, but missing a lot of very basic knowledge that you would have if you went to a frum school and grew up in a solid frum structure. Not quite starting from scratch, but starting as if from scratch is probably the best way to make sure that they get this education.

Thanks. I like the bite size pieces but it still looks too in-depth because there are 13 (and counting?) episodes just on one melacha - if she does one a day it'll take years to get through them all. So maybe that would be a good second step but I would love to be able to have a quicker overview so she's not still totally unaware that washing cloth is a problem while she knows all about cutting.

A book would also work as long as it's easy and bite-sized.

What about a book? Don't know titles off hand, but there are for sure some easy to read books out there.

I was part of a group that posted a 3-5 minute audio of shabbos halacha learning a day (based on an English sefer). It was so in depth. Definitely not for someone starting out. They'd end up throwing out the baby with the bath water.

Artscroll has a series called "The Shabbos Home." It's not as quick of an overview as you're asking for, but shorter and simpler than most of the other options, and easy to look things up...

I don't think that the Lamed Tes Melachos book above will work.

We also have this one, which is much shorter and to the point, but almost reads like an outline. Not as user friendly: https://www.judaicaplace.com/p.....5363/

I wonder if talking to a kiruv organization would be helpful. I'm sure this is something that they use.

I wish the Jewish bookstores had a "look inside" the way most Amazon books do... though really I think audio will go better for this learner.

The Good Shabbos book with photographs is a kids book but is very informative, I learned things from it and I come from a strong Bais Yaakov background. The book is a little pricey.
