Need a little help over here.
We are trying to think of a girls name that conotes life or blessing besides Chaya and Bracha. My husband's grandmother died pretty young and though her name was beautiful (Esther) we wanted to add another name because of the circumstances of her death.

Any ideas? Idea

What kind of 'flavor' are you looking for?

You can name her Hadassah instead of Esther. There's Emunah, Tikvah and Eliana.

There's Simcha which is a unisex name.

Tovah, Shaina...

Although my personal choice is to give one name, because I ususally don't see the connection between the two names...I have always loved the name Shalvah-I think it means tranquility.

I've heard of people adding the names Nechama or Ruchama if they're naming for someone who died young or tragically.

Chava also means life.

Shira - song
Ahuva - beloved
Chaviva - dear one (what's the word for it - endeared?)
Ora - light
Batya - daughter of Hashem
Aviva - spring - this always make me think of "life/ rebirth"

Vita, Vida, Lifsha have been used as equivalents of Chaya. First two are Ladino, last one Yiddish.
