I'm looking for a Jewish WhatsApp support group for moms of children with ASD. If anyone has any leads please share. Thanks!

Anyone try checking with Yachad or Tafkid to see if they have one or know of one? Shema Kolainu - a school in Boro Park for kids with autism - may know of something too.

What’s this, I’m interested in hearing more.
Also what if we seven posters (so far) start our own support WhatsApp

I’d be happy to join a group as well.
Posting under my name so people can send me numbers and I can create a group if desired.

Happy to join too - mine's an adult (lives at home with us) with autism. Will put my "real" screen name if we manage to get something going.

I'm sorry you had a hard day. Hug

If you tell us about it, maybe we can act as your support group?

I have a hard day every day with my adult child living at home. Diagnosed condition is ADHD but a lot more besides.
If the support group would be for such conditions as well, I would love to join.

The Guttmann sisters have a membership forum they started. There are different forums for parents of children with anxiety, asd, add, etc. may be worth checking out. They also have a call every week supporting parents. Has been helping me tremendously.

We're working on it intensively - we want the right professionals on board. It should be opening soon. It will be focusing on the needs of high functioning ASD because there doesn't seem to be anything else around for these parents, most of the kids are in regular schools so there is not much support there either.

Anyone who wants to join will be welcome but the specialists are ASD specialists and the tools we will be working on are for ASD.

Can you ask if adults with high functioning ASD can join as well? I think our perspective can be helpful. Along with my personal and husband's personal expirience, I have other relatives with ASD too. my sister works for an organization that deals with a lot of high functioning ASD kids, and she's always calling me for my perspective/advice. I'm considering becoming a social worker to help people professionally now.

It's not clear if any of our kids have ASD yet but it's highly possible because well, genetics.
