Just curious if anybody knows.... I always participate in Tzedakah Chinese auctions. I've never won anything and the main point that you are helping a tzedakah organization even if you do. The Ten Yad auction is coming up and I'll buy tickets this year as always, I was just wondering if I could add onto that some maasar money, does it count??

I was told you can. Unless you would go for the auction to win even if it wasn't tzedakah.
Also, if you win a prize, you have to regive that dollar amount. Example -- you won a prize in the $10 section, you have to regive $10 (NOT the value of the prize, don't worry)

I do not know where all the other posters got their answers, but I would assume like most things like this you need to ask your rav. Your rav will give you an individual pasuk(descion) based on your money situation.

A chinese auction is where they have a whole bunch of prizes and you buy a ticket for the prizes that interest you. They then put all the tickets in a raffle and the winner wins that prize.
