Dont Forget that we all have wings as well, so that changes how your personality plays out. Then there’s the neurotypical or not piece. Say if you’re an ADHD 6 it’ll look different than if you’re a neurotypical 6.

I took the tritype test and it came out 6-4-9

Honestly, I think we have such ingrained visions of ourselves that may or may not be true. Lots has to do with what was valued when we grew up - sometimes we think we're that because we want to be it, or we think we're the opposite because we hate what we see or always feel different.

I don't think anything is set in stone, it's so much based on our own perception of reality. I always wished for someone to just tell me which one it is (which I guess is a 6 trait?) but then I came to realize there are no hard answers with these things and I gotta learn to live with some questions... still learning...

It’s just a system that made it easier for me to understand and accept the people in my life. Especially myself Wink!

It’s not the Torah or something carved in stone.

And we should never try to squeeze people into numbers or wonder why that number person is acting out of their number personality. I’ve seen that a lot.

And I agree that Miriam made the 6 and 8 seem very unappealing. I never wanted to admit to being a 6.

Thanks for the link, Crust.

I've discovered I'm a 4-9-6 which does not surprise me...

I read Miriam Adahan's book around as a teen around 15 years ago; and I will never forget the impact it had on me.

I think personality typing should be used for oneself, and not to 'type' others; (though I admit it's often more fun to do the latter Wink )

That is so validating! I’ve always felt that my personality is different because of my ADHD. Without ADHD I would be really organized and conscientious but instead I’m messy, do things on the fly, and very laid back. I also answer personality quizzes inconsistently because there’s a big divide between my ideals and my reality. There are questions phrased “I consider myself to be…” and questions phrases “I value the trait of….” and I would answer those differently even though test writers intent for those to have similar responses. It’s easier to just look at the category descriptions myself and decide from there.

Have any of you looked into the Living Your Truth by Carol Tuttle... It's something I was also fascinated and obsessed with at some point. I thought I might be a 2 but then it seemed that perhaps I was a 4. And once again I had this similar struggle cuz 4's are portrayed as certain characteristics (sharp, precise etc) and I didn't feel that way, but again there's that part about thinking and thinking about everything which is a 4 trait. A lot of it does resonate more than any other number. Probably with a 1 secondary.

I'm curious also how it corresponds with the Enneagram.
