Just opened one of our (20) boxes of matzah and it smells rancid. Nothing to do about it, right?

If you are keeping your oven on over Yom tov stick it in for a min to freshen up.

It has an unpleasant smell. I thought it means rancid but maybe I don't know...

Open a second box to make sure. Definitely contact the place you bought it from.
