Which gifts are expected to be given and when are they given? BP Chassidish, not Lubavitch chassidish…

Depends which yom tov you have during the engagement. Customary is watch, becher and judaica. Most also get a menora, esrog box and some a megilla. Then there's the birthday which can be a siddur or challa dekel/challa board or something more gashmius like a belt. If the chusen is gonna go overseas, most kallahs give a travel suitcase with baked goods and a tehillim.

No rules but this gives you an idea

Shas set for shavuos
Machzorim for rosh hashana
Becher for sukkos
Esrog box for tu beshvat
Megillah for purim
Watch at tenoyim
Suitcase when he goes on trip
Leather Siddur/tehillim set for his birthday
Or leather wallet….

It really depends on what time of year the engagement falls out.
These are the basics that everyone gives
Watch at Tenoyim
Becher for a Yomtov
Machzorim for Yomtov
Chosson package (Taalis, Tefillin etc) week of Aufruf

If the engagement is during Chanukah most people give a Menorah.
If it's during Succos or Tu Bshvat some people give an esrog pushka, but others don't.
If it's Purim, some people give a Megillah but others don't.
For milestones like birthday you can give a wallet
Many people also give a Shas certificate

It really depends what you want to spend on, and what your family/community does. In many communities they uphold tekanos, and in some families they go overboard. I would encourage you to ask the people in your circles.

I didn't see the replies before I posted mine. Seems like we all said the same thing. Hope it's helpful!

How about kallah gifts? What does she get for her birthday?

So far we gave:
a silver necklace at the lechaim
tennis bracelet at the tenoim
watch for Pesach, also flowers

What comes next? And what for her birthday?

Machzorim/siddur/tehilim for RH, right?

Are we supposed to give a diamond necklace or earrings at some point??

Someone told us photo album of the chosson, is that true?

Yes, it's true about the chosson album. You collect pictures from when he was a baby till current and make an album. It's cute to make a photo book. You can do it through Snapfish or something like that.

For a kallah, it's usually bracelet at lechaim, diamond ring at tenoyim. Yes, most get earrings and necklace as well. You can give earrings for shevuous and necklace for yichud room. Candlesticks for shabbos before wedding.
When are you planning to give the diamond ring?

Someone told us to give it for Shavuos. We can't wait much longer than that, I guess, although I think it's ridiculous to give three such expensive pieces of jewelry so close together.

Earrings for Sukkos?

I forgot about the candlesticks, thanks. I mean, I knew we have to give them but forgot just now.

Me neither, but I was told it's the fashion in the place where the kallah lives, so I did it. The $50 wasn't much in the larger scheme of things.

But her birthday gift? It's coming up soon and I need to know if there's a required gift Banging head or if I can give something I actually thought of myself.

Birthday gift is optional & definitely no rule on type of gift. People give handbags, other accessory etc.

Some kallahs get one of the official gifts and others get an additional Bday gift. It’s up to you.
Not every girl gets exactly the same thing.

Really? So interesting. I wouldn’t wear a silver necklace as a married woman… it needs to be polished… my jewelry is gold

And if you can still work on a chasan baby album that’s probably the most exciting gift the kallahs wait for
