I use this recipe for the dough. I make it gluten free with bobs red mill 1-1 flour. I use coconut oil for the fat, and xylitol or maple sugar for the sweetener. I skip the crumbs. Peaches instead of apples.

For the strawberry shortcake trifles I layer macerated strawberries, stabilized whipped cream and some vanilla cookie crumbs in a mini Mason jar or those decorative lucite containers made for miniature trifles.

I that dough all the time. You can use any fruit. It’s so good.

I will make it either Thursday or Friday morning. First, score the skin side. Sprinkle with salt and pepper, then lay it skin side down in a cold frying pan. (No need for oil) Turn the flame on medium, and cook it for a few minutes, until the skin starts to brown. Then flip it and cook on the other side for a few minutes.

Such elaborate menus all of you's.

Mine is much simpler:

Same cooked sweet salmon fish and gefilte for all four meals. Same dips.
First night:
Brisket
Vegetable blintzes
hasselback potatoes

First day:
milchige kiddush
and then same food as night before (everyone is so full from kiddush that no one really eats, so I learned not to patchke for this meal)

Shabbos night:
chicken soup
flanken
potato kugel
ferfel
applesauce compote

Shabbos day:
eggs and liver
chulent

Not a dumb question. Was wondering the same. Don’t want to keep my crockpot on for 2 days. I will probably put it in a 9x13 on my hot plate and hope it cooks well enough.

We DO keep the crock pot on, and fill it with water until we are ready to make the cholent. The other option is to put your crock pot on a timer.

I skip coating the chicken pieces with flour, just sprinkle the chicken pieces with salt and pepper then brown in oil before adding othet ing. and skip the cornstarch in sauce. Use splenda instead of sugar if you want the recipe let me know.
