What is the going rate for taking in a boarder in brooklyn? Someone asked me if I would but $500 seems low given the current food prices. Assuming utilities would jump as well, seems more than half would go to expenses.

Depends what you include. My daughter boarded in Lakewood, shared a basement with another girl and it included supper once a week for about that price. They did have a kitchenette..
$500 sounds way too low with breakfast and supper every day. Also will she go home for Shabbos?

I paid $450 in Chicago ,20 years ago. I would be shocked if it’s the same still.
