Belz is a level 3? I’m surprised.

Why? In many chareidi and chassidish circles they don't eat belz. I know many people who don't.

This list might be a Lil outdated. Chassam Sofer Petach Tikva is really not so accepted anymore.

We were told we could eat there except for vegetables that need checking. Hechsherim in Israel are so hard to figure out. You need to ask a Rav you trust. We went by R Weiner list.

Because it’s a good hechsher. Not holding by it is political, not kashrus. Belz IS a chassidish hechsher.

I don't think it's anything to do with politics. We eat many chassidish hechsherim but we don't eat Belz. Many people don't.

But yeah I don't know who made that list and decided the levels?

We consider kehillos just as good as all the other top hechsherim. Many people do - I think those who don't is just because it's a newer hechsher.

Yes, it's the same one. If you look at a map you will see.

It’s serving a political agenda within the chardei world. It’s a reliable hechsher, but when they started they were faced with opposition

Okay? But why don’t you? All the Belzer chassidim know. It was an argument with the Eida Hachareidis and they were blacklisted. Not because Belz somehow doesn’t know how to supervise food.

I wasn't aware of this. I know there's politics with all the kashrus but I don't know the details. And I don't know when politics are the issue or it's actually kashrus.

I'm not sure why Beit Yosef is level 5, almost everyone I know eats it for dairy and some even for chicken but not meat.

You need to find a Rav that really knows the Ins and outs of kashrus, have been to factories, meet mashgiachim and follow what they say. Rabbi Weiner is known to be very involved in the kashrus scene for example.

You also need to use your common sense. For example I've been to some supersol branches, where my rav says we can buy things that are hashgachas we eat at the cheese counter but some branches have the cheese counter right next to the deli counter with very little separation, and people I know who eat regular rabbanut have told me they wouldn't trust the workers who aren't religious to not mix stuff up.

The new carrefore supermarket has the same issue as well. At least the branch I saw.

What is the R Weiner list and how can one go about getting it?
