I found this watch which my daughter loves and is super cheap perfect for camp. I'm wondering though if it's appropriate cuz of this crazy new rainbow craze.

Idk, I wouldn't jump to the conclusion that they designed that specific watch with pride in mind, but regardless it may be perceived that way...

People may have that thought when seeing it. I hate that this is how it is nowadays! I think rainbow is fun and I often like colorful things esp for my little ones, but I hesitate to buy a lot of them because of how it may be perceived.

My 7 year old daughter is obsessed with rainbows. She colours everything in rainbow colours and wants me to buy her rainbow canvas shoes that we saw when out at the store last week. I probably will because they're more glittery, different colours. They don't actually have the rainbow on them and she's desperate for them! My only daughter so she's a bit spoilt Wink

I can't see the watch, it took me into a review. It's sad how rainbows have changed Sad

Eta: I see it now, it's cute but I get why you're hesitant. I'd probably go for it though. Why do our girls have to 'suffer' because of pride...

Not everything, but the straight lines in this pattern is the pride flag. I’d have her pick something else.

It has come to represent something other than what God intended for it to be. I have no issue with rainbows, but I wouldn’t buy something for my child that had this specific rainbow. It has nothing to do with disgust, that’s just your interpretation.

It’s so sad that people took something as beautiful as the rainbow and turned it into a symbol so that it should become controversial. Sad that we now have to think twice before purchasing an item with something as innocent as a rainbow!
This watch is so adorable. What has the world come to that we can’t buy it unless we want to make a statement? That’s what’s absurd and sad!

It's become a universal symbol meant to send messages when you wear it. You can stick your head in the sand but you are sending the message every time you wear it.
