Because they're illegal and dishonest. It's the manufacturing equivalent of plagiarism or pirating movies or music recordings. The knockoff manufacturers take a company's design and copy it without paying for the rights to do so. IOW they steal the designs. It's rampant. Knowingly buying such goods is no different from knowingly buying stolen goods. The fact that many frum people do this doesn't change that. And if the legal aspect doesn't bother you, the negative PR aspect of a frum person publicly doing something illegal (and undignified) should.
