Gut voch ladies!

DH and I were discussing this on Shabbos and wondering if any native Yiddish speakers can clarify. Is the name Pessel פעסל a diminutive or a completely different name from Pesha פעשא?

Is Tzeitel (not sure how to spell it) from Tziporah or totally unrelated?

Is Hodel (also not sure how to spell it) from Yehudis?

TIA!

Haha I know, right? Very Happy

The Tzeitel/ Hodel thing came up after we were debating whether Pesha and Pessel are the same basic name.

Pesha and Pessel are both corruptions of Batya via Basya to Basha to Besha to Pesha to Pessel.
