Debating between GE and Samsung. Samsung is 33% cheaper but is it a reliable company? These are the model numbers: GE GNE27JYMFS and Samsung RF289T5001

When I was shopping for one a few months ago, the frum saleswoman in a well known appliance store told me Samsung is not great when it comes to fridges. I imagine that’s why it’s cheaper.

I wouldn’t take a chance when it comes to such a large purchase.

Repair people hate Samsung. Hard to get parts and complicated to fix. I vote GE.
That was my deciding factor between the two.

The Shabbos Keeper for GE would be my deciding factor.

I don't love my GE fridge, but in general, GE is considered to be a better product.

Speak with handy men who repair fridges.
I always ask what they would buy for their mother of she needed a new fridge.

Samsung has a bad reputation for refrigerators. Beautiful but break a lot.

Interesting. My last 2 refrigerators were GE (french door) and had issues almost right away. Repairs were a nightmare.
I was so fed up.
Now I have a Samsung and b"h no issues. It has shabbos mode just like the GE does.

I was told that GE is alot more reliable when it comes to some appliance. Fridge/freezers is part of those. 2 repairmen told it to me.

The Shabbos Keeper for GE is a lot more than a Shabbos mode. It's automatic. You do not need to set it every week. Link: https://www.zmantechnologies.c.....ators

On a previous GE refrigerator, when I had a problem still under warranty, after 2 unsuccessful visits from general appliance repairmen, a tech from GE came, knew it what was within 30 seconds, and took care of it.

No, pricing was similar. I bought ge ovens and ge hoods but with the fridge they told me it was the same quality-same number of problems across both lines. We chose Samsung for the way it fit in the kitchen.

Why not a Frigidaire for a fridge? They are great for fridge freezer air conditioner.

I used to have a GE fridge. I really liked using it, except it needed to be repaired a few times.

Who told you? The sales people? (who probably get commission)

I got a Samsung fridge years ago, no problems with it BH. My (frum) repairman was going through different recommended appliance brands and he said Samsung is good for fridges, and he didn’t know we had a Samsung. Our fridge is so old it doesn’t have Shabbos mode, we do the magnets.

The reason why I didn't bother to install an ice maker at all.
