Hi, we're planning a move next year to Monsey, and one daughter will be entering pre1a. Shopping sales now for next winter but I'm not sure how much she'll be needing in terms of weekday clothing... We're applying to Bais Yaakov, Bas Mikrah and Tiferes.

Do you know which of the schools I mentioned for sure do?
Including knee socks/tights for that age (just out of curiosity)?

Tíferes is relatively new.

BYE (Bais Yaakov Elementry) is uniform jumper only and knee socks, light blue polo shirt/light blue button down shirt and school sweater (all can be bought at the uniform Headquaters).
Polo shirts are easily bought at old navy.

There’s still a chance you are getting in? Hatzlacha!! We love BYE

Follow up question: if they are wearing uniforms at this age, do they wear sneakers or loafers?
Do they wear tights or knee socks, and if knee socks, do they wear fancy patterned ones or only solid?
We may be finding out where we are sending our daughter last minute, but I want to be prepared Smile

Knee socks are generally worn until it gets cold out, and then they switch to tights (and back to knee socks when it gets warm at the end of the year)

I’ve seen most kids wear loafers (school shoes) in the beginning of the year and some switch to sneakers after pesach (not running sporty sneakers you’d wear to the gym, but wtvr they sell in the Monsey shoe stores)

Knee socks is totally up to you. I don’t think they typically wear crazy designs, but there can be some design on it. Or just solid works too.

If I’m wrong about any of this others can share their experience. I’ve got lots of girls and this is what they do as well as their friends

From what I know some schools only allow specific colored socks and they don’t allow pictures and stuff to avoid competition. But I don’t know the rules of these specific schools .

Most girls wear solid dark knee socks with school shoes. Some wear sneakers but shoes is more classy.
