I’m here in israel and hosting a large amount of people for shabbos. Is it feasible to get the food from machane yehuda? Like salads, kugels and schnitzel? Is it good? Fresh?

Nooooo. They don't have prepared food there
You need to go to a takeout store.

Thank you! Should I get the drinks there at least? Is it cheaper than only places?
And any places you would recommend that’s reasonably priced for prepared food?

They don't sell drinks either. They sell spices, fruit, veggies, bread, there's resteraunts, some random stores that sell socks or kitxhenware etc. Tea, Chalva.....
I don't really buy prepared food so I wouldn't know.

For prepared food, you should probably go to Geula. There are lots of take out places there. Some people like Goldy's, in Ezrat Torah. You can buy everything there and its fairly American style.
You can buy drinks in any supermarket or makolet. Somewhere like Rami Levi or Osher Ad will probably have the best prices.
Near the bottom of the shuk is a place called Ma'adenei Tzidkiyahu. They sell salatim, but very much Israeli style. I don't know if you would like them. I also have no idea what hashgacha they have. There are a few places where you can buy challah and rogelach and so on.
Of course, if you want to buy vegetables and make your own salads, the shuk is the perfect option. And plenty of fresh fruit to make a great dessert or snack.
