If you’re not spending the money on a babysitter why not ? 45 dollars a day is more than not 45 dollars a day. And it adds up ! Good luck.

I'm trying to push for more $ but I wouldn't want to start if I know it would stay 15

If it was a non-complicated job, the money would make a material difference to me, and it wouldn’t cut into my primary job or taking care of my family.

I’d aim for a minimum of $20 before starting

Too low. Either negotiate or get a similar job elsewhere for higher pay.

I wouldn't. The going rate these days is more. 15 is super low.

How would you push for more $? I already went on an interview and he told me it's $15 to start with but idk if and how much he'll raise. He knows I'm looking for more because I already mentioned it

I pay my cleaning lady more...
Also is this cash or will you still need to deduct taxes from the $15?

How desperate are you for the money? I would let him know you’re going to look for a higher paying job because $15 an hour is really not the going rate. But if you really need the money now then maybe start this job while looking for a different higher paying one without telling him? Not so nice but he’s not paying enough to deserve loyalty.

Where are you located btw? If you’re in monsey, Brooklyn or Lakewood then $15 an hour is low but out of town the going rate may be different.

No way. Not worth the stress and commitment.

The going rate is minimum $25.

No way! My cleaning lady charges 22/hr.
I would rather clean my house and get less cleaning help than work for someone else making phone calls and pay for their cleaning lady and put food on their table.

I'm not desperate for the money but so far I don't have other employment lined up. I'm not sure yet if its $15 on the books or not. But the guy sounded like he wants commitment. And I need to give him an answer very soon

If it's cash OP will still need to deduct taxes from it. Unless you mean she should do something illegal like not report?
