What do people do when they need a camera that's not a smartphone?
Are there any digital cameras on the market that cost less than $300 and actually take good pictures?

I have the Canon G9x Mark II for almost 6 years. It`s not cheap but it sometimes goes on sale and it takes excellent photos. I am very happy with it.

Yeah. And it goes for more than $300 second hand. Cameras are very expensive lately.

My 12 year old wants a camera and while I don't think she's too young to have her own camera, I do think she's too young to get a $400-600 present!
What does everyone else do?
