,hi I just moved to an apt with mostly carpet
Looking for a really good vacuum cleaner that's not too pricey
Anyone can recommend one they are happy with? Thank you, help much appreciated!

Not inexpensive but after a lot of research and agonizing, I got a Miele canister and it is fabulous - lives up to its reputation.

I got a C1 Turbo because I have mostly wood with area rugs. If you have lots of carpet - especially high pile carpet the recommendation is other models because of the way the head handles deep cleaning carpet.

I too have a miele canister which I bought over 10 years ago. I never buy German but I did this time because I had purchased 2 hoovers and a panasonic vacuum and they just didn't last.
