I work for myself in a service based industry. I love what I do and at the same time I've been getting so fed up with people's sense of entitlement. I give my job my all but also have certain boundaries in place. It's really difficult when people try to push those boundaries. I can't give more detail because I'd like to stay anonymous, but looking for people who are dealing with the same issue to commiserate and maybe share any valuable tips.

It stinks but that's part of being in the service based industry. Every job has its plus and minuses and that's one of your big minuses. My dh is in the service industry and has to deal with it all the time. But he also enjoys the benefits that come along with owning your own business and not having a boss. There are also jobs where people have a boss and still have to deal with annoying people such as teachers/therapists dealing with parents, working in retail etc...no job is perfect. You just have to stick to the boundaries you created and try to let it go when people are rude.

Yes, I get entitled customers all the time.
Like why should you charge me for a no show? You didn’t teach my kid.
Or
I am leaving my mess here all over your yard because I am paying for swimming lessons anyway
Or
I am leaving my 3 other kids here while I just run to the store, I am sure they will sit quietly and not disturb you
Or I can go on all day..
You make the rules, make customers sign when they get a service, and only make exceptions when it makes sense for you
