I’m starting to send my baby to a babysitting group in Lakewood for the first time. He’s one and a half years old. Found a babysitter that sounds good and got references from her but haven’t called yet because I can’t think of what to ask. Any help would be appreciated! I hate making phone calls but want to make sure to cover all bases so I feel confident sending my baby out. He’s my first.

Does she change diapers throughout the day.
Does your child come home clean?
Does your child cry when you leave ?
Does she prop bottles?
Does she let kids cry it out ?
Does she punish?
Does she feed the kids the lunch you send or does it come back home ?
Is your child in a crib all day or does she give him toys and stimulation ?
Does she have assistants and what do they do?
Would she let me show up unannounced ?
Is the home peaceful when you pick up your child?
Does she let you come inside and stay for a while?

Does your child like going?
Is the place clean?
Is there place for the kids to play?
Do the kids come home w changed pampers?
Is babysitter calm?
Does babysitter like kids?
What’s her work schedule (erev Pesach, between camp and school, etc)?
Does she take off/cancel often?
Is she ok w you not sending for a few days (vacation, maternity leave, etc)?
Does kid come home clean?
Does kid come home fed?

Is she warm and nurturing?
Does she calm your child when he or she cries?
How does she handle feedings ? Does she prop bottles or fill bottles with baby food or is she spoon feeding and holding babies while they eat.
Does she have flexibility if you are running late ?

Did your child come home happy?
If your sending to an 18 month group, they'll be nearly 2.5 at the end of the year, very aware and likely talking. So this question can give you a lot of information (vs with newborns who don't communicate).
