Many ppl on Instagram make it sound like the next best thing as winning the lottery with minimal working hours.

You mean working for an MLM? It's luck, risk, and lots of sweat and tears. It's hustling and calling and driving people insane and building your own brand.

MLM and affiliate marketing are very different. I've done some affiliate marketing but personally have done much much better in direct sales and even MLM (but be careful which companies!). There IS someone on imamother who has made $5000+ per month in affiliate marketing---- she has switched into photography as a new profession (she's also successful in that realm)---- I'm not offhand remembering her imamother handle (though I remember her real name because we connected elsewhere--- facebook, insta--- can't remember--- lol) but if someone else does and can direct OP to her here, I'm sure she can be helpful with first aff marketing steps. don't know that she'd want anyone outing her real name.... I can't remember how I even found out. She's super sweet.
