They're always so soapy and mushy after. What am I doing wrong?

Place blueberries in mesh colander. Fill pot/bowl with water. Add a bit soap (after water, not before, or else suds will form). Lower in colander of blueberries. Let sit one minute. Lift colander and replace pot with fresh water. Low back colander and lift up and down to freshen and remove soap. Repeat with clean water again.
Use colander for rinsing and staining. Don't handle berries so much or they will mush
