Both are non stimulant medications. Straterra is specifically aimed at ADHD symptoms, and has varying efficacy. Be aware that some people experience stomach irritation and take with food. It does not tend to cause sleepiness. It comes in a small capsule, which can be opened if needed, but then you really need to buffer it with food.

Intuniv is aimed at focus too, but often does more for the regulation of moods, impulsivity, irritability, etc that can come with adhd. And ASD too- it's often prescribed for both. It is time release and comes in tablets that you cannot cut. It can cause sleepiness in some people so is often taken at night, but not always.

Both are options to try that can be prescribed on their own, together, or with a stimulant, anxiety med, etc. If you're trying to choose between them and the doctor doesn'thave a specific recommendation between the two, many go with the Intuniv if there are mood and behavior issues. Fyi, I have had kids on both.

ETA that neither is as effective as stimulants in helping with focus. But to my knowledge, both have been shown to provide more help along with stimulants in some people, and for those who can't take stimulants because of very problematic side effects, these don't have the ones they do: no effect on appetite, no keeping you awake, no rebound effect. They don't start working as quickly (though IME Intuniv starts within a couple of days- and for those first couple of days there may be sleepiness), but your day is also not a complete loss if you miss a morning. You have to take both every day- no picking and choosing.
