Chol Hamoed is the only time that we can go on vacation together as a family.
We are in the tri state area.
Prefer to travel by car. Willing to travel up to ten hours. Flying would be an option if tickets are up to $150 r/t.
Will be traveling with kids ages toddler-upper teens.
What was your most memorable family trip.
Open to hearing all suggestions.

If you're flying, you need to know that there's a sukkah at your destination. If you're driving, I suppose you could take one with you, but it would still be easier to have it waiting for you.

I just went with my kids + a few nieces/nephew to niagra. The ages were ranged from 6-20. There is a chabad right near the falls, so you can probably get a sukka.

Lake George NY. You need to check in advance if Great Escape amusement park is open.

I believe the Lake George summer minyan will not be around for Sukkos and will instead be in Saratoga Springs, about 30 minutes away, so please don't make any chol hamoed plans in LG before confirming the minyan situation.

I second Niagara falls. The chabad on the Canadian side has a pretty good lineup - renting out large water park with separate hours, Uri Davidi concert, sukkah for eating, plus all the regular attractions. Yes, it will probably be chilly, but still most attractions are open. Bring warm outerwear. And don't forget to bring your passports!

You can do this drive with all or some of these stops
Philadelphia
Longwood Gardens, Wilmington
Washington DC
Skyline Drive / Luray Caverns
Williamsburg VA/ Bush Gardens
and the way back along the coast with
Chesapeake Bay bridge/tunnel
Cape May - Lewes ferry

We have done it for chol hamoed pesach, never for succos. Also we live close by, so it's more of a day trip for us. If you want more info about sleeping there and stuff, I'm pretty sure the Chabad is very communicative and happy to answer questions.

Almost booked Niagara Falls, but realized my older teens only have Birth certificates as ID. So this option is not going to work.
Was looking at Hershey couldn't find anywhere info that it's open.
Busch Gardens looks like it will be close.
Any other suggestion, don't mind driving further as we have four full days this year.

If you have international plans booked, and you go down to select agencies, you can get passports or passport cards within 14 days, and some places do it same day
There are services that will take care of it for you
