Davening.

Teshuva, tefillah and tzedakah.

We stick to the tried and true formula, without getting creative and esoteric. Sorry.

We do the typical simanim (apple in honey, pomegranate, sweet carrots, head of fish etc).

We don't eat nuts or vinegar during Tishrei.

We eat round challos dipped in honey the entire Tishrei.

We don't wear gold jewelry on YK.

There's probably a ton more, I'll add as I remember them.

Lots of tehillim. Lots. We'll see if I'm up for it this year.

And no napping on first day.

Well I don’t know. Maybe? When I said it on RH was usually when I said more tehillim anyways. (Whole sefer shabbos mevorchim, daily shiurim etc)

I will say the years I’ve stayed up on hoshana rabba and said it with the special tefillos after each sefer and had a kavannah, I’ve seen it answered explicitly that year.

My husband wears a kittel on RH like on Yom kippur.
In the shul he grew up in, the men wear tall white hats. I actually only saw it once so I can't describe it. My father in law was wearing it. My husband doesn't.

We dip the apple in sugar.

About segulos, I'm all for the teshuva tefillah and tzedaka approach.
No need for anything "fancy".

I have said the whole tehillim on Rosh Hashanah.

Many people say it twice, because there are 150 perakim x2 = 300 which is the gematria of kaparrah

Yes my dh tries to finish it twice on the first night! It's hard...
Come to think of it, I'm sure he said it twice the year that he had a car crash and came out pretty much unscathed bH! I need to check with him.

Not to derail, but I was an older single and my family split up tehillim to have it finished twice on RH night, and I got engaged that year Smile Can’t get into details, but my shidduch was really a neis.

My husband wears a kittel on RH (as well as YK), other minhagim are pretty standard.

White kippal and kittel/Kaftan is minhag yerushalim. Dh wears it bec he's generally in uman. Most men there are from EY, so they keep that minhag
Then the regulars mentioned up thread.
No vinegar (in breslov not so makpid)
Basic simanim, fish head, sweet carrots, pomegranate and shehchiyanu 2nd night.
Loads of shana tovas on first night. Some go to all the grandparents that are in walking distance. (I do phone calls cuz most are not)
No sleeping in or napping.
Satmar (my parents) the women wear just a white tichel for shul.
No wigs, RH and YK think long bandana style.
If I go to satmar I wear that as well. With little kids, I switch off with my siblings and wear my shaitel with a white tichel on top bec I go to a corner unaffiliated shul. (Typical chasidish Friday night look)
