How do I break him of this gross habit??Yesterday they blew shofar at school and sent a video to the parents. He was sitting there picking his nose on video the whole time! What to do to get him to stop?

Redirect somehow. Is it a compulsion as in he needs to be doing something with his hands? Get him a fidget. There are sensory sites that sell these toys, kids can wear it on their neck. If he actually has a runny nose then figure out what's causing it.

Have you tried putting bandaids on those fingers? Explain to him that nose-picking is germy bad habit and that to help him stop you’re going to put the bandaids on. Make sure his teacher knows that the bandaids need to stay on as well so it can be enforced in school too

Make sure he has a convenient and socially acceptable way to clean his nose completely
Look for times he seems to be in the habit (is it when he's bored? nervous?) and try to replace it with a better habit (fidget toy or similar)
If you see him picking his nose, if you are able to do it nicely, help him wash out his nose with saline and clean it completely with a tissue. Then have him wash his hands with soap. (don't do it if you'll be mean about it)
Teach him how snot gets there and what its purpose is and what germs it carries. Ask him if he thinks it's a good idea to pick it out with our fingers. Ask if he wants help to break the habit. Offer a prize for every hour / day / week without it.

Apply a thin coating of Vaseline inside nose softens everything and makes it less tempting to pick.
