My adorable precious 5 yr old is not in a yeshiva yet for this year.
I am still trying to get him in, but am facing the real possibility that I may have to homeschool him for this year.
Anyone else in Lakewood/Jackson... that has a five year old boy without a yeshiva for this year that wld want to team up? Share ideas, have social lives for our kids...?

Are there any schools willing to take your son? Honestly besides for maybe 1 school, any school is better than no school.

Trying other schools, but this late in the game, no school is going to just accept another kid. Yes, had other people call. Yes, we are a fit for the yeshivas we are trying to push for.
My husband was in touch with someone from the vaad who had suggested the yeshiva we are trying to push for, but not much has come of it. My husband couldn't reach him for a bit now either.
Does no one else have a primary age boy who didn't get in?

Would it be an idea to send him to an older kindergarten group? There are boys that stay back because their birthdays are close to the deadline and their parents dont want them to be youngests...

He b"H knows his aleph bais.
I'm worried that if he repeats kindergarten where a huge chunk is focused on aleph bais he will be bored and then I'll be asking for behavior issues. He's b"H a smart kid...

Rabbi treffs yeshiva is newish and easier to get into
Kol torah might be easier
Nachlei torah might be easier it’s not typical learning mehalach

We send to Nachlei Torah and I’m happy to answer any questions.
So far all the rebbeim have been amazing. My kids learn how to lein starting first grade which gives me the ultimate nachas. I like that it’s a simpler crowd, so my kids don’t feel peer pressure. Parents are very friendly! Even though I’m nowhere near as yeshivish as most of the parents they have been warm and friendly to me and our kids are great friends.

I don’t know how it would be for someone who has learning challenges. My kids are on the quick side so I can’t answer that- I know that’s an important factor when choosing a school. They learn at a quick pace and they focus on chamisha chumshei Torah until they finish the entire chumash, and then they start mishnayos in middle of fourth grade. My kids know so much, well more than my husband and I ever knew

We are in treffs and it’s incredible!!!
Small classes, warm Rabbeim. They care about each child.

I did research into the other 2 schools

1 I saw classes left unsupervised for a good 5 min
The other was begging us to come and we were told it’s a revolving door with rabeim
