I’m here! But sorry op, I only have boys in older grades and I’m not sure.
I’d think many mothers in YTA are on here.

They keep asking us to come in to fill out the application but we live out of town and are moving to lakewood. Anyone have experience with this?
Does the interview happen at the same time as filling out the application? Do I come in with my son and husband?? It's my oldest I am so lost.

we already called twice and they said you have to come in and fill it out..
Anyone have experience getting it emailed?

Come down to Lakewood for a day. Both of you take a day off from work. Yes it's that serious. There's no time to waste!

So come down. I did that when I was moving but it was for older grades. I drove 2 hours spent the day in Lakewood and drove home. They accepted us so it was worth it.

You have to go in person because they want to see you (or husband). They can get a pretty good idea by looking at you if you’re a good fit

It’s probably already too late if you don’t go today. They already set up most of their interviews for today and Sunday. Maybe you’ll have a chance if you go today or Tom. You don’t need to go in together. Just my husband went. No kids. They talk with him for a drop and decide if they want to interview. Also have someone call them to tell them about you. They won’t give interviews to random ppl. I’m sorry but this is how schools work here. You need to be ten steps ahead.

I don't think that's the interview.
You and/or your husband come down to fill out an application.
They will talk to you a bit to get a feel.
Then, they will call you down for an interview.

If they feel you would be perfect for the school, the interview will be a day or two later.
If based on meeting you and your application, they're less sure, the interview will be later.

It's not an easy to get into school. It's been around for 20 years or so so there are many siblings, teachers, etc and not very many "open slots".

No, don't bring your kid. Only you and your husband. It's hard to find babysitting for the kids, but it's worth it and what you have to do. Most schools don't interview on the spot. They'll call you for an interview at a later date.

Please do yourself a favor and do this so that you won't have to come back here in June crying that you still don't have a yeshivah. I'm speaking from personal experience..

The schools here don’t send out applications. They don’t want people from out of town applying to school so they aren’t going to make it easier for you in that way. You should probably come up with a bunch of schools you want to apply to and go around to all those schools at once.

Only one parent needs to go down not both.
