Need some assistance. I'm in my 40's, live in lakewood and totally clueless when it comes to clothing because I don't pay attention to what people are wearing and I never go shopping. I desperately need something to wear to weddings and also a couple basic things to wear if I have to go to shul for some reason.
What should I be wearing to weddings?
Where is a good place to shop for these things?
Even better are links to things online so I don't have to go anywhere.

If I were you I would go into a store when it's quiet, ask them for help and they'll tell you exactly what kind of outfit is appropriate.
I love the customer service at Surelle, they would be perfect for a wedding outfit. Just don't go on a Sunday

I'm in your age range in Lakewood, and I just made a wedding BH....I actually did well this season in Imbue, though it was a while ago (before RH). Got some really nice dresses for Sheva Brachos that will also work for Simchas and shul....
I find every season I do well somewhere else....depends what they have, I guess, and what fits me....

I might have some links if you're interested. Are you plus-sized or standard sized?
In terms of what to wear, most people wear nice midi/maxi length dresses to weddings these days- with floral prints or just plain black in a nice flattering style. It really depends on your body type and comfort as well as how conservatively you prefer to dress.
