I don’t make kugel anymore, too much effort to pull out my food processor and have to clean it.

Looking for new ideas. What do you, your husband, and kids eat on Friday afternoons?

Lunch kids usually have noodles soup (they can have one a week ) or pizza bagels.

I make kugel which some kids have later on. Sometimes I make crispy pastrami. Some way cholent.... etc

We all nosh on roasted broccoli and cauliflower. Most eat pizza, I prefer a turkey sandwich.

Sandwiches. Will make extra tricolor pasta and whatever doesn't get eaten becomes salad for Shabbat

When the kids come home pizza and fries. By the zman kugel-when I make for shabbos I make enough for then too, and chulent. I eat chicken soup.

Kids eat cholent. Me and husb have coffee and cake before zman and sometimes a piece of kugel

Everyone gets a big plate of cholent with all the trimmings. We like it Fri more than we like it on Shabbos.

Wow, do most people eat fleishigs on Friday? I was told by a Rov you’re not supposed to and no one I know does either… interesting.

Chassidim have a minhag to have a taste of Shabbos food on Friday (toameha) so it's definitely not universal to not eat meaty foods.

(I'm not chassidish, but it seems to be pretty common.)
