I have a steam mop which was under $100. It is great for tile floors - not wood of course.
You don't need to use any soap so there is no residue to get rid of and no scrubbing on my hands and knees. If there is a bit of sticky gook I just leave the mop on it for a few seconds and then it comes off easily.
There pads are cloth so are reusable - just need to put in the washing machine. I have a few on hand so I always have clean ones. They make them with a scrubby texture as well as a smoother texture depending on how hard you need to clean.
