We are young professionals MO with one baby who live out of town. We are thinking about moving because there are no good schools in our area. We are not rich but make around 450,000 total a year. We are tying to save to buy a house. What can you tell me about the tri state area or any other place that is preferable. TIA

You make 450,000 a month?? Do you mean a year? Because that would be rich. Even 450,000 a year is in upper class.

Even if you make 450,000 a year as a family of 3 one being a baby you should be able to buy a house. I'm not really following.

OP, if you make 450K a month, you're millionaires. If you make 450K a year, you're pretty rich. On both of those incomes, you should easily be able to afford a house without "trying" to save up.

Is the tri state area a good place for us? What about Florida?

It really depends what you have in mind and in which neighborhoods. There are more expensive areas and cheaper areas, bigger houses and smaller houses. Tri state area is just too big of an area to discuss. But yes you can buy one somewhere in the area.

Does the tri state have more options regarding schools and neighborhoods?

What are your priorities specifically. There are good schools all over but if you want ones that have a specific learning style, or price point, or parent body etc. You have to specify what matters to you most. Also are you looking for city living or more suburban. Is a community important to you? What kind of hashkafos do you have? Just based off of income, you can manage very nicely in any true state area community

Start by thinking about family and friends who are similar to you. What communities do they live in? See if they would work for you.
